The scenic area of the Vendee has plenty to attract children, from its white sandy beaches and Atlantic Coast location, to the pine tree forests with their winding cycle paths which are perfect for family bike rides. Tepacap
More active children will love Tepacap, an outdoor activity centre with coloured zones dependent on your child’s age. Children will love playing at being Tarzan and swinging through the trees and as many of the activities are suitable for people up to 99 years of age, Dad and even Granddad can join in too! For teenagers and adults, the park even has its own paintball centre, which is a great way to spend an active day out whilst on a camping holiday in the Vendee.
Puy du Fou
Whilst camping in the Vendee be sure to visit Puy du Fou, a French theme park which is split into five distinctive areas. Enjoy the Battle of the Keep set in 1429 which offers jousting tournaments, horseback duels and a moving flame throwing castle.

Planete Sauvage
Children will love this African themed safari park which is home to over 2000 animals and definitely should be visited whilst camping in the Vendee. The new attraction for 2009 is the dolphin enclosure containing the first five dolphins ever to be housed in Western France. The safari park features animals from five separate continents, including lions from Africa and wolves from the forests of Europe. One of the more unusual experiences on offer here is a night time safari camp. Spend an evening camping in Vendee’s most unique visitor destination, whilst your guide regales you with African tales over a campfire dinner.
Oceanile Water Park
Oceanile is located on an island off the coast of the Vendee and makes a great family day out whilst camping in the Vendee. The water park has something for every member of the family, from a bubbling Jacuzzi that mothers will love relaxing in, to toboggan flumes and a covered swimming area. There is a children’s play area which is suitable for younger children and toddlers, whilst older children will love experiencing the many rides including the waterslides and rapids. The highlight of this destination is definitely the ‘riviere a bouees’ which involves riding down fast paced river rapids on an inflatable yellow boat which is a definitely a great way to end your camping holiday in the Vendee.
