Baton Rouge is the largest city and the capital city of Louisiana. It is situated in the East Baton Rouge Parish that contains about 430,813 residents. Several structures such as the Pennington Biomedical Research center, Louisiana State archives, Louisiana Arts and Sciences Center, Bluebonnet Swamp Interpretive Center, the Louisiana Naval Museum, LSU Student Union, Louisiana State Library and the Baton Rouge River Center were designed by John Desmond, a Baton Rouge architect.
