Tucson name is derived from the word stjukshon which means ‘spring at the foot of the black mountain is situated in the southern part of Arizona right in the middle of five mountains.It is located in the desert of Sonoran Desert which is famous for its majestic saguaro cactus.The Saguaro is tall and ancient cactus which stands like the statue in between the five mountain ranges.It is considered as the gateway for Saguaro National Park.

It secured a county seat of Pima County Arizona, United States and was founded in 1885.It is the second largest city of Arizona and is flanked by the Santa Catalina and Santa Rita Mountains.It became a part of United States in 1877 and served as the capital of Arizona between 1867 and 1877.Initially the settlement in the area was for missionary purpose.In 1821, Arizona was under the control of Mexico after gaining independence from Spain.But during the war between Mexico and America in 1846 – 1848 America took control over the Arizona and most part of California.
